Kevin Murphy: Head Back Down Under For Myer SS'15 Fashion Parade

KEVIN MURPHY HEADS BACK TO THE AUSSIE RUNWAY
TO STYLE THE MYER SPRING SUMMER 15 FASHION LAUNCH PARADE

Global hair editorial guru, Kevin Murphy, is heading back home to Australia to direct the hair for the Myer SS15 Fashion Launch Parade.

The much-anticipated event will be held at Carriageworks in Sydney on Thursday 7 August, showcasing the latest looks in fashion, hair and make-up to a VIP audience.

This year will feature the latest designer labels to join the Myer family, including, By Johnny, Little Joe Woman and L by Lisa Ho, with acclaimed fashion designer, Alex Perry, opening the show. The event will also see the Face of Myer, Jennifer Hawkins, walk the runway, as well as Myer Ambassadors Kris Smith and Kate Peck.

Assisted by a team of 24 Session.Stylists, Murphy will be responsible for the creation and execution of the hairstyles of the parade’s female and male models, with James Nicholson and Nathan Gorman at the helm as co-hair directors. The hair look will see pops of pastels incorporated, including candy pinks and purples, baby blue, lemon and mint green, with the aim of amplifying the depth of colour in the SS15 Collection as well as complementing the soft makeup look.

“I’m very excited to be working with Myer on this prestigious event for the sixth season,” says Murphy.

“Spring Summer collections are always playful and colourful, so it really is a time when we can experiment with hair on the runway, which I’m looking forward to.”

INSPIRATION
“We wanted the hair look to be whimsical and romantic, taking inspiration from water and the ocean”
“Soft pastels and hair colour is really the trend of the season, but we wanted the look to be classic still, so the style of the hair has notes of the 190s and 1940s”

GET THE LOOKpage1image8428
Step 1: Prime using Hair.Resort.Spray ($34.95) when the hair is dry
Step 2: Part the hair off centre and using a medium tong, tong the hair on the front and top to create volume.
Step 3: Loosely braid both sides back toward the nape
Step 4: Stitch with hair elastic, rolling up away from hairline, toward the nape. The aim is to create a Katharine Hepburn silhouette
Step 5: Once the style has been created, apply Fresh.Hair ($32.95) and White.Bug ($24.95) liberally until 'Marie Antoinette' white hair is achieved, then seal with Session.Spray ($29.95)
Step 6: It’s time to get creative with colour! Pick your favourite Color.Bug ($24.95) and rub into the hair, then finish with Shimmer.Shine ($39.95).

Tip: Depending on the colour intensity you want, apply Night.Rider on first, then rub in Color.Bug for a bright colour. For a softer tone, apply Color.Bug gently over Hair.Resort or Fresh.Hair

APRIL 2014 - Her Fashion Box

Would you believe me if I said my March box arrived a week before I received Aprils box? Well that's exactly happened to me, Her Fashion Boxes just seem to be arriving later and later as time goes on. I felt left outta the loop on Aprils box as there wasn't much follow up by the social media person. There was an email sent out in the last couple of days of April, promising that boxes would be mailed out the next day. couple weeks later, still nothing. At this point I was very annoyed, as I didn't receive a email back with a follow up, nor a reply back to facebook, twitter or Instagram comments.

There wasn't a reason given for why the boxes were so late, just that the team have been working really hard getting them out. I totally understand things happen and are completely outta people's control but it's quite frustrating paying for a monthly subscription, not getting it on time and not getting a form of contact back. For a service you're paying for turns out like this, kinda makes me want to cancel my subscription.

Anyways enough about my rant / sooking. haha lets just start this:

Bonus Gift: I received a Her Fashion Box tote as my free gift for completing March's survey. Great little bag for shopping or carrying my Uni books.
1) Cedel - Coconut Bay Hairspray ($4.99)
I love my hair products and I love hairspray even more! I love how the fragrance smells exactly like coconut. Which is quite refreshing! I've perilously owned this. it's super lightweight, non sticky and easy to brush out. The packaging is also very cute and funky.

2) Manicare - Fashion Nail Shaper ($1.95)
I'm not much of a nail person. However I'm a sucker for packaging and this packaging is adorable. It'd definitely come in handy, something small to throw into your bag.

3) Urban Rituelle - Coconut & Honey ($4.95)
Im a fan of Urban Rituelle and loved their perfume bottle in February's box. However this certain product won't be used by me. Don't assume I'm being rude, I'm actually allergic to soap, along with honey. However it does smell lovely. I may pass this onto a friend or keep for a giveaway.

4) Mor - Five Sachets Of Hand Cream (80ml - $14.95)
I've tried a few of these hand creams before and I love them! The formula absorbs into the skin quickly, helps soothes dry hands leaving them feeling pampered, restored moisture and with a lovely scent. I'll most likely save these for a giveaway or pass onto someone.

5) Her Fashion Box - Luminesce Socks ($24.95)
These are cute knee high socks and perfect for the colder months but I don't see myself wearing them. I'm not really a huge fan on knee high socks nor do I see what makes these socks worth $24.95? I'll wear them around the house, but doubt I'd wear them outside.

6) Her Fashion Box - White Noise Earrings ($19.95)
Another product I won't be able to use, only because I no longer have my ears pierced. However theyre cute and love the detail. Another product for a giveaway.

7) Her Fashion Box - Coraline Cuff ($19.95)
I already own a similar cuff in pink. It's a cute bracelet to add an extra pop to an outfit. I love the look, colours and spike details! definitely going to get a lot of wear.

Overall: 5 outta 7 products will not be used by me, so this months box is disappointing. It really wasn't worth waiting for, however I'm sure these products are more appealing to others but if I wasn't allergic, had my ears pierced and hadn't tried some of these products before I would of enjoyed this box. But I'm excited for May's box for their designer collaboration, so fingers crossed May's will make up for Aprils.

Trend Alert: All White.

WHITE ON WHITE

If you hadn't noticed by now, that white is the hottest colour on trend, at this very moment. On trend this Summer is wearing white from head to toe. Since its such a fabulous colour, it's super easy to stand out with bold jewellery pieces. Don't blend in with everyone that's wearing prints, colour, black or monochromes, white is now! I know many aren't brave enough to wear white (blame that time of the month) but its truly sassy and ultra polished look. It’s a breath of fresh air!

So I encourage you to embrace the white trend as I will be and I hope you find some inspiration from the pics below.

Lara Stone: The New L'Oréal Paris Spokesperson

L’Oreal Paris is thrilled to welcome Lara Stone is its new global ambassador.

Lara’s spectacular silhouette and sexy gap-toothed grin have made her a true icon in today’s fashion world. Her uniqueness and glamour caught the global fashion industry totally off guard and catapulted her all the way to the top of the modelling scene. She is hailed as one of the world’s greatest models, sometimes even described as the “anti-model” for her sharp looks and personality in the standardised environment of the catwalk.  After a break to give birth to her first child, Lara shines more than ever and becomes a new international spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris.

“Lara is a real modern icon. Her rebellious, edgy sensual beauty has made her so strong and successful. Yet, she remains incredibly genuine, true, sensitive and super fun. I love her iconoclastic style and the way she distinguishes herself in every single fashion show she walked for. We are thrilled to welcome this exceptional woman and young mother to our brand,” says Cyril Chapuy, L’Oréal Paris Global Brand President.

With an English father and Dutch mother, Lara Stone was discovered by an agent at the age of 12 on a trip to Paris while on a family vacation and started working as a teenager. But it wasn’t until 2006, when she was chosen by Givenchy to walk for the Fall Couture Show in Paris that her career kicked off. Ever since then, she has modelled in shows for practically every major fashion house including Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, and Fendi.

Lara appeared in many advertising campaigns (she signed an exclusive deal with Calvin Klein) and has been featured in every major fashion magazine. She developed a close relationship with former
Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld who dedicated an entire issue to her. It was to be the start of a long and passionate relationship with the magazine and its international issues, of which she has adorned the
cover nearly 10 times.

“I am so flattered to join L’Oréal Paris. Getting the chance to say “You’re worth it” to women around the world is a great honour. L’Oréal Paris is a brand that has always understood that beauty and personality go hand in hand. I totally identify myself to the Brand values considering my own history and career. Beauty is something you invent for yourself. It’s a powerful way of claiming who you really are,” Lara Stone declares.

Lara joins the ranks of L’Oréal Paris Spokespersons like Beyoncé Knowles, Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto, Julianne Moore, Hugh Laurie, Jane Fonda and Australia’s own Megan Gale.

September Favorites :)

September was a great month for discovering new products, from body, face to jewellery. These are the products I've been loving through out last month, so I'm just going to jump straight into it.

Couleur Caramel
Black Short Mascara
RRP: $37.95

This mascara lengthens and separated my lashes quite impressively. I was super impressed how my lashes looked and felt after I've applied this product. It felt super soft and didn't flake through out the day. This mascara does have a scent, which is a pleasant smell. Kinda like coco butter but better. Which I found quite nice, as many mascaras don't have a pleasant scent. Its a water based formula enriched with soothing acaria gum, protective beeswax and shea butter. It leaves a natural curl in your lashes upon applied, almost looks like fake lashes. The best thing about it, Its all natural!

Rimmel London *
Lash Accelerator Endless Fibre Mascara
RRP: $17.95

Lash Accelerator is used for my everyday makeup, I wore this almost everyday of September, as it looks natural and instantly adds length. I did notice some changes. My lashes appeared longer and stronger. I was asked many times if I got lash extensions or if I was wearing fakes. The brush is lash-catching to give the perfect separation without clumping. Its the perfect mascara if you're wanting cute, girly eyes.

Curtis Collection *
Luxe Liner - Black
RRP: $35.00

Great liquid eyeliner for precise, controlled application every time. Very fine tip glides smoothly onto the lid, delivering colour intensity in a single sweep. This liner creates a subtle definition using the tip of the liner for a thick black line with a dramatic finish. By using the side of the pen, you can create a bold, thick, glamorous cat eye. Loved how this liner didn't crack like other liners, lasted the whole day. So easy to wash off at night too.

Swisspers
Facial Cleaning Wipes - Original
Pack of 25 Wipes
RRP: $5.99

Ive always loved and used Swisspers cleaning wipes as theyre actually made to do the job. It removes all my makeup off, even those water proof mascaras. Also cleanses, tones and moisturisers without drying out your skin. Leaves it feeling like a babies bum haha. Im really liking the product changes to the packaging. They've now got a plastic flip cover instead of the adhesive that most makeup wipes have, which lead to drying out. So the flip cover was a smart choice, really does make your wipes last longer. The sheets are fairly big that it covers my whole face and also a lot thicker, which makes it easier to use. They're perfect for those lazy nights where you cant be bother walking to the bathroom, easy to store in your bag or inside your bed side table. If you haven't tried these, what are you waiting for?

Calvin Klein *
Downtown
50ML
RRP: $90

The femininity of downtown s displayed in a light soft pink colouring bottle. The liquid is a pink tone, which sprays on clear. I found the colouring to be very cute, girly and sweet. The cap of the bottle is a silver hollow design with a bright fushsia accents that adds a modern edge. Which using your cap to filter your photos, so you can enter that Calvin Klein competition on instragam. The fragrance balances feminine woods with soft floral notes. Opening with Italian Cedrat, Bergamot, Tunisian Neroli, Green Pear and Watery Plum. Downtown is developed with notes of Pink Peppercorn, Violet Leaf and Gardenia Petals and dries down with Texan Cedarwood and Velvet Musks. Which you can really smell the warm musky, woody scent while wearing it.

LUSH
Rub Rub Rub
Shower Scrub
RRP: $12.95

This product makes shower ten times funnier. Actually, using LUSH products are fun full stop. This Rub Rub Rub is a bit of a variation on the normal shower gel. Its packed full of mineral-rich with Sea Salt and a refreshing dash of lemon juice and the tropical scent of mimosa blossom that gently exfoliating the skin, leaving it feeling super soft and shiny. I tend to use once a week, maybe twice when fake tanning, to ensure I get all that dry, dead skin off before applying a gorgeous tan. Its suitable for all skin types. So everyone can join in on this LUSH shower party.

Marc By Marc Jacobs
Enamel Stars & Disc Necklace
RRP: $129.95

I got this necklace from my boyfriend as a gift to celebrate our 2 years together. Before receiving it, I was eye balling it at work, as its just a gorgeous piece. I wanted it so bad, that I saved it as my wallpaper on my phone (how sad am I?) I was actually going to reward myself with this necklace for all the hard work I did with opening David Jones Malvern Store. As Marc Jacobs is a very popular brand, it kept selling out. Guess I have expensive taste. So I was glad my boyfriend was actually paying attention this year round and brought it for me. Decorated with enamel stars, silver engraved balls and enamel logo discs by Marc By Marc Jacobs/ The aqua blue enamel contrasts beautifully with the gold-tone chain.

*any products stated with * means they've been sent out to me to try and review. everything is stated in my HONEST opinion, I wasn't paid in any form of giving a positive feedback. nor am I paid to feature the products on my blog*

RUN BABY RUN!

My stylish guide to keep fit and health through out the colder months of the year. Even though the weather is wet, cold and muddy. That isn't a reason why you should stop working out. To get your heart pumping, body sweating and the heat is great for the body. Don't let winter get the best of you. It takes a quick and easy 5 minutes to do a simple work out from your busy 24 hour day. You need that extra push. I work in retail and im always on my feet, lifting boxes, cleaning fixtures, folding clothes, walking up and down the floor. It's never ending, although I do get a work out from just doing that but that doesn't end my daily work out, when I get home a do a 30 minute routine of push ups, sit up and squats. It's so simple and easy. If you're one of those people who can't keep track of their work outs, download an app on your phone that can do all the work for you, even get those workout apps that can guide you to a clean, easy and better lifestyle. I've even added a quick 5 minute routine to help kick start your day!

Here's a quick 5 minute workout:

1. Clean & Press.
(Works shoulder, back, butt and legs)
- Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and place dumbbell on the floor near each foot. Start squatting, bringing the dumbbells to the outside of your knees.
- Standing strong and bring the dumbbells to your hips, raise the weights through your shoulders and over your head. Lower and repeat for 60 seconds

2. Side Lunge
( works back, butt and legs)
- Stand feet shoulder width apart, holding dumbbells at your sides. Take a huge step out to the left with your left foot. Starting bending your left knee 90 degrees while keeping the right leg straight. Return to start and repeat for 30 seconds then switch legs.

3. Squat & Bicep Cur
l(Works biceps, butt and inter thighs)
-Stand with feet shoulder width apart to toes pointed out. Have each arm extended, palms up. Bend knees at 90 degrees, squatting as you curl towards your shoulders. Return to start and repeat for 60 seconds

4. Push Up Plus
(works shoulders, chest, abs, back and triceps)
-Begin in a full push up position, palms down on the floor under shoulder and legs extended. Do a single push up then carefully lift your right hand off the floor, extending your arm out to the side. Holding here, lift your left foot off the floor. Lower hand and foot back down to the floor. Do another push up and repeat with the opposite side.

5. Leg Deadlift & Kick Back

(works back, legs and triceps)
-Stand hip width apart, holding dumbbells with elbows bent 90 degrees, hands close to your rib cage. Lift your right foot behind you and bend forward slowly from the hips. As you straighten your arms, being them next to your hips. Return to starting position and repeat for 30 seconds on each side.

5 Best Ways To Wear Glitter

it’s all about the sparkle and shine! Glitter seems to be the hottest trend gracing the sidewalks, runways and it’s all about styling the right pieces to make a shining statement. Whether you prefer makeup, shoes, clothing or bags, there are glitter options to suit all of your preferences. I've listed my top 5 favourite glitter looks :)

Nails

The least intimidating place to try your hand at sparkles is on your nails. Change your French manicure by replacing the standard white tips with glittery or metallic colours. Make a statement by swapping the normal nude shade for a darker one. Paint nails black or navy and finish with a glitter tip

Shadow

If you’re going to wear glitter on the eyes, please reserve it for nights out and festive parties. Daytime glitter is a no-no but a touch of evening sparkle can look pretty when the lights are low. For those feeling bold, apply a cream based product to the lids (any concealer or cream eye shadow will do) and press a multi-toned glitter powder on top of it for starry eyes. Be sure to hold a tissue under the eyes and over the cheeks to catch any fall out.

Blazer
Nothing will get beat a glitter blazer, these things can make a whole room stop and just stare at you. Not to mention you'll shine like a disco ball. Throwing on a glitter blazer just adds an extra touch and shine.

Heels

If you’re heading out on the town, highlight a pair of glitter heels or platform pumps with a short yet frilly dress. All eyes are going to be drawn to your feet, so be sure those legs of yours are freshly waxed.

  Bags

glitter bags are the biggest statement piece you could ever wear. If you want to make any outfit pop out and get your attention, then a gorgeous glitter purse/bag is the trick.

Cara Delevingne

I LOVE CARA DELEVINGNE!

She's known for those epics brows and I can't thank her enough. Sure, the power brow is a trend but for those of us who can't always be bothered to pluck *raise hand* to perfection, it's a welcome relief to have Cara make it okay for all of us.

Givenchy Rottweiler Shirt

I have fallen madly in love with Givenchy Rottweiler, that I've brought it in almost everything.

This style has been seen on many celebs like Rhianna, Pink and Kylie Jenner. If you have no idea what Givenchy Rottweiler is, basically where have you been living?
To refresh the mind, It's a angry Rottweilers face thrown onto just about anything you can thnk of. Yes, I've seen it on underwear haha.

I've grown such a huge obsession of it, that I can't stop buying it. I do wish I could buy the real ones, so lets be honest: I don't have thousands laying around.

The site where I brought them from is: With Love Kirsten.
withlovekirsten.com/

These items were pre-orders on the site. Took roughly 3 weeks for them to come in. The Bag Set was $49.99 and The Shirt was $24.99

The quality of the picture is spot on, even on the shirt & bags. It's perfect, it does have a odd smell when I first brought it but the smell wears off after a while. I believe the bags are made out of leather, and do get very hot when you leave them in the sun for so long.

Bag Set:

The bags come in a set, Large, Mid & small. Larger bag is perfect for every day use, like shopping. Mid bag is more of a going out bag, like clubbing, drinks with the girlfriend or even a date. The smallest bag is more for cash/coins.

T-Shirt:

I can't get enough of the shirt, the picture quality is also prefect, it has rhinestone circling the Rottweilers face. The shirt was available in no sleeves or sleeves. I found that this shirt goes with just about anything. You can really style it up if you wanted to, or go for a simple look.
I reckon it suits well with leather jeans or leather skirt. Or just shorts.

Here's The Links To Where I've Brought Them From:
