Cast Away With Colour Theory's Autumn / Winter Collection

Cast away this season with the launch of Colour Theory’s Autumn/Winter 2015 Collection ‘Nautical but Nice’. Inspired by the colour diversity displayed on this season’s catwalks, the collection sees a comeback to the looks showcased originally in the 90’s with interesting combinations of bluish accents, metallic shimmers and racy reds.

Essence 24H Hand Protection Balm ( Winter Edition)

In the colder months, my hands get dry, flakey and sometimes crack in the creases of my knuckles. It gets very painful that I have to constantly rub cream on my hands or worse wash my hands for relief. Which is a huge No No, as that makes my hands 10 times worse then before.

Caramel Hot Chocolate - $1.95

Finding a hand balm is harder then you think, I want something that reliefs pain, smooth, soft and doesn't give the oily feel after applying. After trying many testers in the shops, I saw the Essence shelf that was stacked with hand balms with different scents. There wasn't any testers, so I took my chance & grabbed the Caramel Hot Chocolate bottle that read:

" This 24h hand protection balm is an intensive repair care for particularly rough and dry hands, the repair formula with Shea Butter and Coconut Oil provides moisture, care and protects your hands from dryness for up to 24hrs. Does not leave an oily residue. Caramel Hot Chocolate scented hand cream "

The Winter Editions to the Hand Protection Balm range evoke memories of our favourite winter warmer drinks. The three new flavours/scents are: Caramel Hot ChocolateApple Cinnamon Punch & Gingerbread Chai Latte.

When I first applied the cream / balm, the fragrance was nice and smelt almost yummy but then it reminded me of La Tan (fake tanning spray). They were true to scent and exactly what the bottle says. After the application the scent does fade away after time unless you cover my face with your hands, which you'll keep doing once you've applied them. The Essence balms are $1.95 and I honestly thought due to the price tag, the products would at least be greasy, which is something I truly hate! After using this for a week, I was wrong. It's very light wright, worked its magic and definitely did what it was described to do. It's truly left my hands feeling, smooth and soft. Although I don't think it kinda lives up to "24hr protection" I'd recommend reapply every couple of hours just to keep the moisture in your hands.

I love the Essence products, but it's such a huge shame that they discontinue their products after a couple of weeks from releasing them. I haven't been able to see these in Priceline (where I brought mine) but I did see some at Target.

RUN BABY RUN!

My stylish guide to keep fit and health through out the colder months of the year. Even though the weather is wet, cold and muddy. That isn't a reason why you should stop working out. To get your heart pumping, body sweating and the heat is great for the body. Don't let winter get the best of you. It takes a quick and easy 5 minutes to do a simple work out from your busy 24 hour day. You need that extra push. I work in retail and im always on my feet, lifting boxes, cleaning fixtures, folding clothes, walking up and down the floor. It's never ending, although I do get a work out from just doing that but that doesn't end my daily work out, when I get home a do a 30 minute routine of push ups, sit up and squats. It's so simple and easy. If you're one of those people who can't keep track of their work outs, download an app on your phone that can do all the work for you, even get those workout apps that can guide you to a clean, easy and better lifestyle. I've even added a quick 5 minute routine to help kick start your day!

Here's a quick 5 minute workout:

1. Clean & Press.
(Works shoulder, back, butt and legs)
- Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and place dumbbell on the floor near each foot. Start squatting, bringing the dumbbells to the outside of your knees.
- Standing strong and bring the dumbbells to your hips, raise the weights through your shoulders and over your head. Lower and repeat for 60 seconds

2. Side Lunge
( works back, butt and legs)
- Stand feet shoulder width apart, holding dumbbells at your sides. Take a huge step out to the left with your left foot. Starting bending your left knee 90 degrees while keeping the right leg straight. Return to start and repeat for 30 seconds then switch legs.

3. Squat & Bicep Cur
l(Works biceps, butt and inter thighs)
-Stand with feet shoulder width apart to toes pointed out. Have each arm extended, palms up. Bend knees at 90 degrees, squatting as you curl towards your shoulders. Return to start and repeat for 60 seconds

4. Push Up Plus
(works shoulders, chest, abs, back and triceps)
-Begin in a full push up position, palms down on the floor under shoulder and legs extended. Do a single push up then carefully lift your right hand off the floor, extending your arm out to the side. Holding here, lift your left foot off the floor. Lower hand and foot back down to the floor. Do another push up and repeat with the opposite side.

5. Leg Deadlift & Kick Back

(works back, legs and triceps)
-Stand hip width apart, holding dumbbells with elbows bent 90 degrees, hands close to your rib cage. Lift your right foot behind you and bend forward slowly from the hips. As you straighten your arms, being them next to your hips. Return to starting position and repeat for 30 seconds on each side.
